Free birth chart & transit calculator
When were you born?
How this birth chart calculator works
Enter your birth date and place, and your birth time if you know it. AstrologyMetrics works out where the Sun, Moon and planets were at that moment, draws your birth chart, and compares it with where the planets are now, so you can see which transits are active and when they peak.
How to use it
- Pick your birth date (any day from 1900 to today). Your Sun sign appears on the wheel straight away.
- Add your birth time if you know it. It sets your rising sign and houses.
- Search for the city where you were born. It sets the time zone and the angles of your chart.
- Open your report: a birth chart wheel, an overview of your rising sign, Sun, Moon and strongest aspects, the transits active now with a timeline, a plain-language reading for each transit, and your Chinese zodiac animal.
Good to know
- No birth time? The calculator uses 12:00 noon. Your Sun sign will be right, but your rising sign, houses and even your Moon sign may not be.
- Positions are calculated in your browser with the Swiss Ephemeris, using the tropical zodiac and Placidus houses.
- Transit dates are estimates of when each aspect is in range. You can move the date and time to look at another moment.
- There is no account. Your birth details are saved in this browser so you can come back; the place search is sent to Mapbox to find coordinates.
- Astrology is a language for reflection, not a proven way to predict events, and nothing here is medical, legal or financial advice.
Questions
- Is it free?
- Yes. There is no sign-up, payment or account.
- What is the difference between a birth chart and transits?
- Your birth chart is fixed at the moment you were born. Transits are where the planets are now and how they line up with that chart. Read the full explanation.
- Is my Sun sign enough?
- It is one piece. Your Moon and rising sign add a lot, and they need a more exact birth time. Why your Sun sign is not your whole personality.
- How accurate is it?
- The planet positions come from the Swiss Ephemeris, a standard astronomical library, so they are precise for your birth moment and place. What they mean is up to you: astrology is symbolic, not scientific.
